The Church of Holy Colors is raising money through Kickstarter to buy and convert a school bus into an art bus that runs on waste vegetable oil. There are several opportunities that this will open. A tour in collaboration with Elestial Sound Records is already scheduled to commence in March 2012. The tour begins at their headquarters in Gainesville, FL, with performances in various cities including the SXSW festival in Austin, TX. In June they are working with the VAN residency in Miami to create an environment for art and musical performances. This summer, they are also honoring a mural commission in New York at The Museum of Working Artists, a new contemporary art center in Redhook, Brooklyn. Having a viable, ethical, and affordable means of transportation is the first step in being able to fulfill these and future opportunities.

Chefs is a limited run tape series between artists, bakers, etc. Chefs Volume I features a lush A side by one half of Rabbit Punch, He Dog, who implements savory tape loops and creamy whipped synthesis. Side B features a collaboration between Elestial Sound artists MSNRA and Euglossine, who as High Rule cook up a storm and neglect the dishes. Expect exotic grooves and natural ambiances that evoke spices of the globe.

“Sunkissed, slightly sunstroked sounds from Gainesville, Florida, a debut for the duo of Tristan Whitehill and Kane Pour and only the second release for new label Elestial Sound. An all-or-nothing synth duo who don´t let up on ideas or entertainment value, jamming all kinds of fun into a mere twenty-seven minutes.
Delivered with a great big smile but neither ironic nor just for laffs. I suppose you could cross-archive this EP with the reborn enthusiasm for a sort-of remembered, laidback eighties sound, analogue nostalgia and even a smidgen of rehabilitated New Age, but from minute to minute, sheer enthusiasm defies easy categorization as yet another, unexpected left turn is hung into hip-hop or baroque pop.
Orchal & Vir lob great big nerf balls of fat, round synthesizer notes at the listener, from the opening ”Flash Fabric” to ”Hotlantis” less than half an hour later. Hummable and toe-tappable and even though they obviously are no one single genre´s captive, there is a cohesiveness to the music that provides a steady frame for the listener. It´s like pink plastic lawn flamingoes and fruity drinks with paper parasols started a band on a coral reef and invited all the tropical fish to come listen.”
